Bacon , Cheese & Chives Damper

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 Cups Plain Flour

  • 4 tsp Baking Powder

  • 60g Butter

  • 200ml Milk

  • pinch of Salt

  • 3/4 Cup Diced Bacon

  • 3/4 Cup Shredded Cheese

  • 1/4 Cup Chopped Chives

METHOD:

  1.  Pre-heat camp oven

  2. Mix flour, baking powder and salt together in a bowl

  3. Rub butter into flour mixture with hands 

  4. Add half of the milk to the flour and mix with hands (add extra milk slowly as needed to form a dough to prevent making to wet)

  5. Combine bacon, cheese and chives with dough and knead mixture

  6. Once kneaded form into dough ball and place on a well oiled trivet and into your camp oven

  7. Cook until the damper has risen and is golden brown
